This is one of my Grandma's old recipes, she had an apple tree in her garden, and her neighbour had a pear tree and they used to swap fruits with one another. This is my failsafe recipe, that's super easy to throw together.
Roughly chop the Apples and Pears (leaving the skin on) and place into a large heavy based sauce pan. Add the Cinnamon stick, Cloves, Brown Sugar, Honey, Lemon juice, cover with a lid and simmer on a low heat for 5 hours, stirring occasionally.
Once the apples and pears have cooked, leave to one side to cool down before placing into glass jars. Serve with some Vintage Cheddar, biscuits and a glass of Mulled Wine!
