A windowsill garden is the perfect way to inject some colour into your kitchen and comes in rather handy when you're cooking. I'd recommend starting off with the likes of Basil, Parsley, rosemary and Sage. These are all easy to maintain and handy to have at reach whilst cooking!
If you don't want the hassle of growing herbs from seeds or cuttings, visit your local supermarket and buy pre-planted herbs. The pre-planted herbs will often come in pots with good drainage, but if not, repot and sit straight next to your window.
Tips & Tricks
Remember to water your herbs regularly.
Keep them in a pot that allows for drainage.
All of these herbs love the sun, so keep them next to a window. This will also help to mimic their natural outdoor environment.
Keep a water spray bottle on hand, to keep the leaves fresh and dust free.
Trim away any dead or wilted stalks to keep the plant healthy and fresh.
